Donna Walsh

Donna became the Executive Director of EFNA in June 2012. Donna’s training is in Journalism, but she has worked with patient organisations in the neurological sector – in various roles – since leaving university. This included work with the European Migraine and Headache Alliance (EMHA) and the Migraine Association of Ireland (MAI), as well as being a representative to the Neurological Alliance of Ireland. She is currently a Board Member of the European Brain Council and a member of the European Affairs Sub-Committee at the European Academy of Neurology.

In her role with EFNA, Donna has led the development of EFNA’s Training Initiatives for Neurology Advocates (TINA), which aim to build the capacity of patients to engage in and meaningfully contribute to the Research & Development process, as well as policy and decision-making in areas such as HTA. EFNA has also recently conducted research projects on neurology patient engagement in HTA, the evidence from which will be used to support its advocacy work in topics such as ensuring equitable access to treatment.

Donna is also a member of a number of industry advisory groups, steering committees and patient councils.
