Jim Phillips works as a specialist advisor for the Personalised care group in NHS England, he has over 25 years’ experience in design and implementation of self management programmes to improve health and well being. Regular speaker at national and international conferences and has provided advice to UK and European governments and agencies on health empowerment. In 2002 he co-led on the set up of the Expert Patient Programme in England.
He has a background in psychotherapy and mindfulness. Main interests is in developing new approaches to self management and health literacy and work with organisations to embed self management approaches in health care, including the relationship between telehealth, self management and the role of social networks.
