Gregory Katz

Gregory Katz is the founder and Executive Director of the Consortium Value-Based Health Care (VBHC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerate the emergence of patient-reported outcome registries. His research activities focus on innovation management in life sciences & value based health care. Since June 2019, he is commissioned by EIT Health – a body of the European Union – to compare tools and best practices across 22 EU countries to implement VBHC in Europe. As lead author, he publishes scientific articles in academic journals such as PLOS, JBJS, Transfusion, Yale J of Health Policy, etc. As pro bono activities, he was Vice-President of Eurocord Association from 2004 to 2008, an international platform for clinical research on cord blood stem cell transplantation. He was a board member of the European School of Surgery (2009-2012), Chairman of the Scientific Board of GlaxoSmithKline Vaccines Global Innovation Fund (2012-2015), and Chairman of the Think Tank Digital Leaders in Health (2018). He received several distinctions such as the San Benedetto International Prize for his achievements in bioethics and humanism (2009) and the Special Jury Award from the French Fédération de l’Hospitalisation Privée (2012). In 2015, he was invited as eminent scholar for the Grand Rounds Lecture at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health at the University of California, Los Angeles.
