Dusan Jukic

Dušan Jukić is a patient representative from Slovenia, recently retired from regular work in civil engineering and housing. He was diagnosed with diabetes some ten years ago. He is not on insulin yet (medicine only) - besides trying his best to improve his lifestyle. He is active in different fields of interest, like keeping a vineyard, playing the game of go, simple sewing, travelling, bread making and the like. Soon after being diagnosed he entered the ‘Društvo diabetikov Novo mesto’ (the Novo Mesto Diabetes Society) and was eventually elected as its president. There are about 300 members in the society, with 9 members of the Board, to whom he is very grateful for their devotion and ambition in running the society's activities. About two years ago he joined the EPF activities as an observer, and now here he is.
