Paul Robinson

Paul trained in medicine in London, working in the NHS for 8 years before joining the pharmaceutical industry to run clinical trials and provide medical support for commercial activities both in Europe and the US. He describes his current role – EU Patient Engagement Lead for MSD – as getting the voice of the patient into the company, and getting the company to listen ! He continues to see patients once a week at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London, and is coming to the end of a 10 year term as a NICE committee member, assessing whether new technologies represent good value for money for the NHS.

With the VU University of Amsterdam, Paul co-leads the metrics work package of PARADIGM, to provide a framework for evaluating the benefit of patient engagement activities.
