Jan Mainz

A professor of Health Services Research at Aalborg University Hospital, Psychiatry, Center for Clinical Health Services Research. He is Director of Psychiatry in Region North Denmark. He is affiliated Professor at University of Southern Denmark and affiliated professor at Haifa University, Department of Community Mental Health.

Jan Mainz is the Danish representative in the OECD Health Care Quality Indicator Project since 2002 and member of the OECD Bureau, PaRIS Working Party. He is former Project Manager and he has been responsible for development of indicators and measurement in The Danish National Indicator Project.

He was Chairman of The Nordic Minister Council Project on Indicators Monitoring in the six Nordic countries (Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Greenland and Denmark) 2002-2015.

From 1999 to 2005 he was President of The Danish Society for Quality in health care and from 2003 to 2005 President of The European Society for Quality in Health.

His main research activities relates to health services research,quality improvement and quality management, performance and outcome measurement, Quality monitoring and patient empowerment. He has published more150 papers in scientific journals and contributed to more 25 books.
